I love Scorsese movies and this is a good film but not his best.

Scorsese gives a view of early N.Y. that is pretty amazing….you wonder if its fact or fiction, but really entertaining none the less

Every issue with the original Blu-ray release of this movie has been fixed, moving it from one of the worst releases on the format to one of the very best. This film now looks and sounds spectacular on Blu-ray and is a must own for any fan.

GONY has been finally given the royal treatment! After 2 shoddy releases, the 2 DVD set (movie is spilt in two halves!), and the 2008 Blu-ray, they got it right! This re-master is beautiful! The only beef I have is that Disney/Miramax should have had some sort of upgrade/exchange program, like a $’s off coupon or at least something for us who bought the prevoius blu.

The newly remastered release of Gangs of New York represents such a substantial improvement over the previously released Blu-ray misfire that filmfans and videophiles will be left with little to nothing to complain about. Everything about the transfer looks amazing, and all of the problems that plagued Disney’s first release are nowhere to be found. Colors, contrast, black levels, and fine detail are all excellent, the presentation is free of digital anomalies, edge enhancement has been kept to a bare minimum, and the film looks fantastic.

    Thanks Kenneth Brown [...]
