I took a look at the KURO at the pioneer convention last month but man, the contrast ratios were amazing. Dark areas were pitch black. You have to sit REALLY close to resolve that kind of detail. It's nice when it's essentially free in the cost, and your place is setup for close viewing of a large screen, but it's definitely not something to worry about.
