While this unit has excellent volume and a decent picture the unit does not function like any I’ve owned before. You can set the Color, Contrast, etc and those setting hold from disk to disk fine, HOWEVER, when you set the mode to FULL SCREEN it resets to NORMAL eqach and every time you insert a new disk or turn it off and back on. This is true for all disks we played, store bought or ones we created on our dvd recorder.
We tried two units both with the same result. Sony is the one to lose on this poorly designed unit. If you want to watch your dvd in full screen you will have to reset it each time. This has not been the case with any other portable player weve owned, Magnavox, RCA, Phillips, etc. I sure would not buy this unit.

I looked for one of these for a Christmas present and realized that the off brand players were really cheaply made and did not offer a quality experience. When I found the Sony I realized that you get what you pay for. It works well and is easy to use.

bought this for our kids (11 & 7) on long car trips. this was perfect to stop the fighting. The player itself is as easy as can be to use -although the mounting of the 2nd LCD is kind of a pain. Overall, I would recommend this

Gave as gift to great granson so I only got minimal time with it but, it seems to serve the purpose
